About the Author

Vladimir V. Ghukasyan is a research assistant professor in the Department of Cell Biology and Physiology and a director of the Confocal and Multiphoton Imaging Facility of the Neuroscience Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He earned a PhD in biology from the Institute of Biotechnology, Yerevan, Armenia, and completed postdoctoral training at the Institute of Biophotonics, Taipei, Taiwan.

Ahmed A. Heikal is a professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Swenson College of Science and Engineering at the University of Minnesota Duluth. His research interests in molecular and cellular biophysics were inspired by his work with Watt W. Webb as a postdoctoral associate at Cornell University. Dr. Heikal earned a PhD in applied physics from the California Institute of Technology under the supervision of Nobel Laureate Ahmed H. Zewail.

Different From All The Rest

As one who has been a dreamer all my life and as a minister others seek out to interpret their dreams, I have read and consulted a lot of dream books. The Ultimate Guide to Understanding the Dreams You Dream, Biblical Keys for Hearing God's Voice in the Night, is different. This book presents expanded biblical perspective for interpretation. Of course there are other books that use the Bible as the basis for dream interpretation, but none I have read that are as biblically thorough and biblically extensive as this one. It truly lives up to its name as "The Ultimate Guide."

The understanding of dreams gained from studying the material in this book also brings additional enlightened understanding of scripture which is exciting and delightful for those who study the Word regularly.

The chapters and sections are manageable as study and exploration go. Not too much to grasp or relate to all at once and not too much to chart to aid dream interpretation. In fact, the author does an excellent job of outlining systems that cut categories of dream symbolism down to size so they can be easily remembered and applied because they make sense according to our everyday lives. More than charts to memorize, this book presents systems to use and explanations instead of charts.

The tone of the book is very lighthearted and conversational even humorous which makes the heavy subject matter easier to digest. It not only teaches the basic precepts of dream interpretation, it also enables revelation and understanding when there needs to be action. I experienced an anointing on this book that increased my memory of my dreams, my consciousness in my dreams, as well as interpretation and revelation flowing from my dreams. I was more than impressed.

As God pours out His Spirit and dreams and visions are increasing, this text is also quite timely for the perfecting of the saints and to prepare the way of the Lord's second coming. It makes interpretation and revelation of dreams much more accessible for the saints since dreams are a major way God speaks to us. It allows us to use cultural experiences to make sense of our dreams as well as the Bible. In other words, the systematic premises and principles posited just make sense.

This book is defiantly for someone who is religious and is looking for a deeper meaning to dreams. I found the material to be very helpful in many ways however interpreting a dream is still very difficult. The first half of the book is a basic understanding of what dreams are and how they are incorporated to God's message. The author describes different types of dreams and visions and compares them to scriptures in the bible. There are three chapters that are mainly focused on numbers and one chapter for color and direction (north, east, south, west, front, backward, etc.). The second half of the book is a glossary of terms that consist of the following; animals, buildings (rooms, places), directions (front, back), metals, numbers, people (relatives, trades), vehicles-parts and miscellaneous. The glossary is not well defined like typical dream book and is paralleled to a scripture. For example a typical dream that everyone has had is in regards to falling. The definition in the book for falling is as follows: unsupported; loss of support (financial, moral, public) trial; succumb; backsliding. The definitions are very vague which will make the reader have to think outside of the box and dissect each dream into many different pieces.

I will recommend this book to those who are spiritual and believe in God and wish to embrace the power of dreams. I do not believe that after reading this book anyone will be able to interpret an entire dream but you will be able identify a few small key details from each. As the author states many times in the book God will communicate with us through dreams, they are never straight forward and consist of many riddles and symbols.

A Guide to Understanding and Interpreting Dreams

"The Ultimate Guide to Understanding the Dreams You Dream" is written to carefully guide the reader through the complex world of dreams. Author Ira Milligan maintains that in these end times God uses dreams to:

* Encourage and direct Christians in their walk with Him - Getting direction
* Warn sinners to repent
* Provide guidance to the Church
* Reveal divine information and knowledge

The subtitle of the book "Biblical Keys for Hearing God's Voice in the Night" suggests that the reader should consider the importance of recognizing the difference between a dream and a "night vision." Milligan also suggests that reader began a dream journal as the first step in learning to interpret your dreams.

The book is divided into two parts: Part One helps the reader understand the common use of the dream in God's communication with His people. This includes insights into interpreting symbols, understanding Bible numerology, and finding answers through colors. Milligan also discusses how all the creatures of creation, modes of transportation, and metals play a part in dream interpretation. I found the chapters that included rules to follow, and answers to frequently asked questions especially interesting and helpful.

Part Two provides a comprehensive Key Word Dictionary of Dream Symbols with Scriptural Illustrations. This section is a very practical tool for reference, research, and application.

"The Ultimate Guide to Understanding the Dreams You Dream" is an authoritative guide book for individual Christians, those involved in Inner Healing and Spiritual Warfare ministries, as well as for clergy and lay ministers.

About the Author
Stuart Gray has been teaching in international schools for ten years. He has extensive experience of teaching the IB Information Technology in a Global Society course with a variety of students, including second language learners. In Tanzania he was responsible for planning and implementing the ITGS course for the school's first intake of IB students. He has been an IB examiner and currently works at Academia Británica Cuscatleca in El Salvador.

ITGS Baccalaureate

I bought this book after reading the sample chapter online. Unlike other textbooks I have used, this one is specificly designed for the ITGS syllabus. Students can be sure that if they are learning something from this book, it will be relevant to the course. The IT systems in organisation contains a lot of theory, and students struggle a lot with it, but the sample chapter explained it clearly.
The first chapters are well set up for students with little knowledge of hardware and software. The list off terms at the end of each chapter make it easy to keep track of what you need to know after each topic.
The organisation of chapters makes it easy to teach, starting on any topic - you don't need to follow the book chapter by chapter, though you can if you want. I like the way the author points out common mistakes that students often make in exams.
Each chapter has exercises and revision tasks to help students apply knowledge. I much prefer these to the basic word-matching and gap filling that you find in a lot of textbooks. The books website is useful in that it has extra activities and starter tasks that can be downloaded for free.
One criticism is that the book is only available in black and white, but everything is still clear and this does make it good value and more affordable than a colour book.

As a recently-started IB student, I believe this textbook is the most accurate, up-to-date resource out there for ITGS students or enthusiasts. I thoroughly recommend it. So far, I have aced all of my practice papers thanks to this material!

Very informative

This is pretty much a condense, comprehensive textbook for the IB ITGS student. Although there is a lot of information, this compactness sometimes detracts from clarity since the important words in bold are not always clearly defined. I find this aspect to be the most annoying, but this book otherwise encompasses everything you need to know. The pictures look a little bit dated, and some of the diagrams are awkward, but this is an overall good book for tying in all the concepts you've learned. If you have some basic understanding before reading this book, then it will be the most helpful to you. Otherwise, you may get a little lost, despite the glossary in the back. I hope this review helps!

This is not bad for what it is, but it really isn't suitable for playing a game with, given that the information is limited enough to where a couple of rounds would have everyone fully aware of all the facts. As a simple and basic sort of study guide, it is better, but again, someone seeking rudimentary knowledge about Civil War battles hardly would buy this when he/she could obtain something much more informative for about the same price.

The data for this third edition has been updated to cover upwards of five years since the previous edition was published, and also includes an entirely new chapter covering sustainable and biodegradable polymers. The book also includes an extensive introductory section covering fatigue, what it is and how it is measured; the fundamentals of tribology; polymer chemistry and plastics composition. These chapters also provide readers with a full understanding of the data section, and how to put it to use as a hard-working information tool.

About the Author
Larry McKeen has a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin and worked for DuPont Fluoroproducts from 1978-2014. As a Senior Research Associate Chemist he was responsible for new product development including application technology and product optimization for particular end-uses, and product testing. He retired from DuPont at the end of 2014 and is currently a consultant.
