Upon finishing high school in 2004, she studied animation in Ghent (Belgium) for a year and then moved back to her home country to study animation at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht (HKU) in Hilversum. She is currently a freelance illustrator and animator located in Utrecht (the Netherlands).

A nicely construct book and sleeve

If I would add a sixth star if it were there. A nicely construct book and sleeve. A perfect addition to my art book self. Between the covers you will explore Lois's artistic journey, behind the scenes, digital painting works in progress and sketches and studies. Her concept art and storyboards along with tutorials and her quick tips. I really appreciate Loish and her exploration of color and form. Buy it.

This is one of the best books by an artist that I have ever owed

I received my copy after supporting her on Kickstarter. Honestly, This is one of the best books by an artist that I have ever owed. It came with playing cards, a book mark, a 3dpublishing zine, and a video tutorial. The packaging is even beautifully done. However, these aren't what make the book brilliant. Have you ever followed an artist's work and studied them trying to figure out what they were thinking? Or even find yourself in a slump or with artist block?? Well This book is the perfect pick-me-up. She explains her thoughts, work flow, and what It takes to get things done. This book does not just show you pretty pictures. It shows you the time and effort. It feels like she gave you a piece of herself. This was just so Excellently done.

Great for new and old artists!

Absolutely love this book!! I love loish as a creator, as an artist, as a person and this book really gives you a look into her process as well as her past as an artist. It's a fun and wonderful book for anyone who loves her style and what she creates. I would recommend this book to any young illustrators or artist interested in a fun and informative book. As for more experienced artist this book is perfect for understanding how she makes her specific work in her style so keep that in mind when purchasing. Still loved this book, great for referencing when I need inspiration and for giving me tips!

Paul Potrac is Professor of Sports Coaching at Edge Hill University. His research interests focus on exploring the social complexity of sports coaching, with a particular emphasis on the political and emotional nature of coaching practice.

Even though at times Thuen ventures so deeply into what he admits to be the unexplainable, as to make you work hard to try and see through his verbal labyrinth and schematic representations. This path is not for the lazy or mildly interested, nor is it for those in search of some quick fix or result. There are no incense or pretty flowers here. If you can't stand the heat of a prolonged battle, you would be best advised to look else were.

This is a path for warriors, as are all true paths. It's long, often arduous, constantly challenging, but always compelling. If you belong here, you will always feel a sense of profound and timeless purpose, and isn't that what we're all looking for...what makes life worth living?

This man is a complete fake. How can this "South African" possibly know anything about ancient Toltec traditions? Does this make ANY sense?? He even steals the Eagle's image from one of Castaneda's books, and pretends to be the "real thing". And now, he even has a book on numerology (look at his website). Very "Toltec", eh?

But, please, give this man money and support him. He needs it badly, to continue his daily consumption of ever more delicious food...

Good starting point for the topic.

My instructor uses this book series in the college automotive classes he teaches. He'll be going to the next edition in September but he said even then he'd allow students to use this edition. He supplements some of the info in the book with his own info as well as info from the internet and the school library. (Today we watched the "How it's Made" episode on Tires from the Science channel because the illustrations on how tires are made are rather... vague in the extreme. Green tires, by the way, mean before it is cured/vulcanized... a point the book doesn't bother to explain) Overall it is a good foundation for the topic and a great instructor can build on it to enhance the student's knowledge level.

The book is filled with demonstrations on how to approach and start oil paintings and has everything one needs to know to get started. There are step by step illustrations of the various ways to start, as in starting with line and mass or with tone as another one. He has projects to do also. It covers techniques, as in knife painting too, glazing, blending colors on the canvas among others. These are just a few things mentioned as the book covers everything... color balance, harmony, value, composition, etc., etc.

I love the artists work in this book and the lessons are very helpful. The only down side to the book is that my book makes the artists works appear flat and dull. I hope that it was just my print. I would recommend the book nonetheless due to the wonderful exercises that helped me a great deal.

On the personal front, she's headed back to her high school reunion. With her new found confidence from her business successes, she's determined to show her old crush Cameron what he missed out on in the hopes that this time around he might finally notice her, and do something about it.

This delicious romcom was an absolute hoot. Ryleigh is part of a very tight knit group of girlfriends, who have her back no matter what, but none of them could have predicted that the plan to seduce Cameron would end up with an extremely uncomfortable introduction to his room mate Hunter.

From there one might predict a love triangle, but honestly, how it all plays out is original, sweet, touching and even a little bit tragic at times, but even a devastating heartbreak doesn't stop the laughs altogether.

Simply a really fun read and I couldn't put it down.

Really sweet feel good read

First of all I have to state how much I LOVED this cover, if ever a cover attracts you to read a book this would be it and once you read the story between the pages it is so apt and fitting too.

Ryleigh should have grown up in the fifties, she has always been that little bit eccentric, even at school, dressing in fifties clothes and loving everything about the decade. While Ryleigh was always a little bit different, the other girls did not see it that way and she was mainly ostracised and bullied. Ryleigh never let it determine the person she became though and if anything made her all the more determined to prove everyone wrong.

“You’re different.”
“So?”
“Different looks good on you.”

Now, ten years later Ryleigh is the owner of an adult ice-cream shop, is branching out and is on the cusp of attending her high schools ten year reunion. She doesn’t really want to go, she never had a good school life, but she was itching to catch a look at her high school crush…curiosity gets the better of her.

Cameron was such a good guy, seriously. He may have been a bit of a douche at school but his heart was definitely in the right place. He had matured, he was majorly good looking and he was a general all round Mr Nice Guy. Soon after meeting with Ryleigh and after only a few dates he has to go away on business for a few weeks, Ryleigh is stressed because the builders have not been working on her time scale, so Cameron being the good guy, sends his best friend and flat mate around to help.

Hunter owns his own construction company and was only too pleased to help this damsel in distress. He had that enigmatic charm, that cheeky smile that could make panties melt and had the goods to back it all up too. But underneath that good looking exterior was a man that was extremely guarded, something had happened to him, he had been burned.

This is not a love triangle, yes there are two men that Ryleigh finds herself conflicted over but she makes her choice and does not string anyone along. I love the fifties theme and the ice-cream names and of course their ingredients, I felt the drool many times. If you don’t want a knicker bocker glory after reading this I’ll be surprised, especially when said ice-cream is laced with booze, hence the adult theme.

“I’d lost my voice when I’d needed it most. And as I stared at the shut door in front of me, I realized that wasn’t the only thing I’d lost.”

Ryleigh has some amazing friends and I can see further books in this series following a few of them and of course I want to know what happens to the man that Ryleigh did not pick. I loved the banter, you get that friendship vibe and this really made this a feel good book. Me personally, I didn’t laugh, which I was expecting too but I did have that perma-smile as I read this book in one sitting, it really is a feel good read that gives you the warm and fuzzies with a little bit of angst.

“If you can’t tell your friends to eff off with a smile and know they aren’t going anywhere, then you don’t have real friends.”

Me personally, I would have loved to have delved a bit deeper into the characters back grounds so that I could really connect with the characters and understand them a bit more, I like to live with the characters when I read and that always enhances my enjoyment of a story. Brooke Blaine’s writing though was flawless, addictive and the story immersed me in one of my own favourite eras, it was a really sweet read but still had that heat that so many of us love.

Sexy, Sweet, Funny & Smart

I have read all of Brooke's novels and Licked is completely different from the others. They did have some humor but this was down right hilarious! I haven't laughed so much in a book in a very long time, if ever.

Ryleigh owns a successful ice creamery and bar that is stylish and fun. She might have found success in her business but not in the love department. That will all change when she goes to her ten year class reunion and literally runs into her high school crush and the man in her fantasies ever since she was 15, Cameron Mathis. Her dream spending the night with him has come true but not in the way she imagined. What she didn't expect was to meet his sexy best friend and roommate Hunter the next morning while she looked like a hot mess...

She should not be thinking about Hunter. She wants Cameron, he is the perfect gentlemen with sexy blue eyes and she has always dreamed of been his his arms and much more. The problem? Hunter. He is the complete opposite of Cameron, he is cocky, works with his hands and she doesn't know anything about him except he melts her panties with one look. And now, that he is working for her expanding her business she can't help the attraction but is he what she wants? Will Ryleigh tear Cameron and Hunter's friendship apart?

I love, love, love this book! Ryleigh is a rock star, she is independent, sassy, funny and don't even get me started on her wardrobe. Amazing! Her friends are the best blend of sexy, sassy and supportive. And the men...Cameron and Hunter, anyone would be lucky to have to pick between these two. Of course I had my favorite but moving on...

Overall...Licked is deliciously sexy, sweet, funny and smart. The sexual innuendo was on point and it had the very best names for ice cream sundaes. Ever. And Brooke's writing style was flawless, I felt like I was in the book! Now...I want ice cream.

I can't wait to see what is next for these amazing groups of friends and lovers
